Arnas, a jazz enthusiast and skilled teacher, co-founded What a Jazz Dance Studio, infusing every performance with authentic swing energy. Together, they bring an electric blend of talent and enthusiasm to the dance community.

With multiple championship titles, including two-time California Balboa Classic winners, they bring a wealth of experience. In their classes, they emphasize musicality, connection, and the joy of Balboa. We’re delighted to welcome them back!

Our Awesome Band
Heart of Dixie
From a thriving swing community in Brno, Czech Republic comes this 7-member orchestra that specializes in Lindy Hop, Balboa and Shag events. Although they started as a small dixieland they evolved into a collective trying to capture the sound of Count Basie and other famous big bands from the original swing dancing era.
All of the members are professional jazz musicians with deep love and understanding of the groove necessary to make people bounce and pulse. With a heavy suitcase full of their own arrangements they traveled throughout whole Europe in couple of last years – from Sofia Swing Dance Festival, Orient Lindy Express in Istanbul, Dragon Swing in Krakow, Retro Weekend in Warsaw to Uptown Rhythm in Vilnius or Sevilla Swing Festival and many more. That’s why they feel like they earned the title European Swing Artist 2020 and wear it prodly.

Their Saturday class will offer a deep dive into innovative footwork and patterns, ensuring an exciting learning experience.

Their energetic teaching style, rooted in improvisation and body awareness, promises an exhilarating exploration of movement. Their classes, “Breathing and Phrasing” and “Internal Grooves,” aim to spark creativity and enhance the connection to music and partner, ensuring a vibrant dancing experience.

A dynamic duo from Barcelona, blend energy and style in their dance, seamlessly transitioning between styles to the music’s rhythm. Their approach won them 2nd place in Jitterbug Delight 2023, showcasing their expertise as Jitterbug dancers and their love for Collegiate Shag.
