Balboa

Balboa

Intermediate

It is perfect for you if:

  • you have been dancing Balboa for about a year;
  • you dance Balboa regularly during parties, participate in Balboa events and feel comfortable in fast pace with your basics;
  • you are familiar with leading or following progressive forwards and backwards; up-holds & down-holds, paddle-turns, side steps, come-arounds, lolly kicks, out & ins, crab walk, multiple turns and different kind of throw outs;
  • you feel comfortable to switch between pure bal and bal-swing;
  • you are a Balboa lover and you cannot wait for the Balboa workshops.
Balboa

Intermediate Advanced

It is good for you if:

  • you dance Balboa for about three years (or a bit less but intensively);
  • you dance Balboa regularly during parties, participate in Balboa events and feel comfortable in fast pace with your basics;
  • you know the material of the intermediate level very well and you can dance it comfortably even to very fast music;
  • a week without balboa is a week wasted for you.

Advanced

It is designed for you when:

  • you dance Balboa a few years and have developed your own style as a dancer;
  • you often take part in Balboa workshops, during the auditions you are qualified for advanced groups;
  • you are easily able to dance Balboa to fast tempo, create your own shapes, do footwork variations and play with musicality;
  • maybe you teach locally or you are well known in your community as a balboa expert 😉
  • you just want to know more and more about Balboa 🙂

Collegiate Shag

Intermediate

It is perfect for you if:

  • you dance Shag for around a year or more;
  • you can lead/follow multiple quicks and slows, falls, freezes and jumps;
  • you can easily dance popular shag figures including bunny hops, sailor, shag out, sugar push, cross kicks, texas tommy, breaks, collegiate kicks (double-doubles) etc.;
  • you know several variations of the basic step;
  • you dance Shag regularly during parties, participate in some Shag events;
  • you feel comfortable with your basic even in fast tempo;
  • you can dance shag all night long. 🙂
collegiate Shag

Intermediate-Advanced

It suits you if:

  • you dance Shag for a 3-4 years or a bit less but very intensively;
  • you have no problems to dance everything mentioned in lower level description even in fast tempo;
  • you dance Shag whenever you have a chance and you are not afraid of any tempo. You can easily dance vomit comet, multiple turns, pop turns and barrels, footwork variations, hand to hand, tandem and other fancy moves in fast tempo;
  • you play with music and shapes, create your own moves and variations, improvise;
  • you feel in Shag like a fish in the water.
collegiate Shag

Advanced

It’s designed for you if:

  • you don’t remember anymore when you started to dance Shag and you feel like you’ve been dancing it since a birth 😉
  • you participate in international Shag events and get to the highest levels;
  • other people recognize you as a very advanced dancer, you are well known shag dancer in your community/country or maybe you’re even shag teacher;
  • you have your own dance style and don’t wants to just copy anymore;
  • you feel comfortable with improvisation in shag, changing rhythms, adding solo steps or extending passes.
Invitational

Masterclass

c.Shag or balboa

Enjoy three hours of intensive classes in a small group (maximum 13 couples) at the invitational level. This level is dedicated to dancers who have many years of experience and are recognized as advanced not only locally but also at international festivals. It’s perfect for true dance freaks for whom dancing is more than just a hobby. This includes those who practice independently and teach locally.

Each masterclass consists of two classes, each 1.5 hours long. This includes 1 hour of teaching followed by a 30-minute practice session with teachers to work on the material covered.

We reserve the right to verify the skill level of participants by requesting they submit a video showcasing their dance abilities.
